Jeddah receives 98% of its water from 2 desalination plants operated SWCC. Wadi Khulays wells also contribute to the Jeddah area drinking water system. These desalination plants supply the Terminal point at the Breman reservoirs, and the Faysaliya treatment plant. After lime and CO2 treatment and chlorination at the later, water is pumped to the final distribution system and reservoirs (together with Breman reservoirs outlets).
A new mixing chamber shall be built to receive and unify water from 5 No. pipes (1x800mm and 4×1,000 mm dia). This project aims to provide for the expansion of the flow capacity at the Faysaliyah plant, taking into account the need for post desalination treatment so that the outlet water meets the required drinking water quality standards.
